Saxon first dipped his toes into the world of advertising back in the previous century, while studying Economics at the University of Sydney. In the two decades since he’s worked with the likes of Nestle, Westpac, Telstra, Hutchison, Castrol, Suncorp, Gillette and Hewlett Packard at several of the major global agency networks. It was an excellent grounding in the marketing business, no question. But one day he had something of an epiphany, realising there had to be a better way to do things for his increasingly time and budget stretched clients. Not long after, Saxon threw in the big-agency life and set about creating a more attractive, streamlined marketing agency model. Pontoon was the result, combining high-level strategic smarts and world-class creative into a leaner and more responsive agency structure. Things have gone from strength to strength ever since and while his balance is a little out of whack he ensures he enjoys life ‘outside of work’….chasing his love of sport, time with the family and of course a good time!
Peter’s career in advertising, direct marketing and sales activation spans more than 25 years, both in Australia and the UK. Armed with a Bachelor of Business (Communication) that he originally began with the dream of becoming a journalist, the lure of advertising proved too strong in the early 1990s and has shaped his career ever since. A big believer in the connection between great creative and even greater strategy, he’s done pretty much everything from writing trade presenters and mail packs, to lead award-winning integrated creative departments and multi-national pitches. He has a portfolio to prove it too, boasting some of the world’s highest profile brands including Westpac, Jacob’s Creek, Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser, Volvo, SONY, Optus and Hyundai. A passionate road cyclist and cycling blogger in his spare time, Peter has been with Pontoon since 2013 and promises never to wear Lycra to a client meeting.
Tim has for the most part called Sydney home since 1999. Originally from England, his creative career evolved from exhibit design in the commercial Aquarium space in both the UK and Australia. These skills evolved over the next few years moving into the busy and more two dimensional world of branding, print and digital design, graduating from Billy Blue School of Design, North Sydney in 2004. Now 13yrs in, his passion for branding and design is as strong as ever and has had Tim working across a number of industry sectors including Travel, Retail, Corporate, Construction, Automotive, Beauty and Technology.
Client focussed and creatively driven Tim has been involved in many of our projects to date from a collaborative perspective through to lead design.
Senior Account Director
Julia (Jules to most) started her career in Advertising as part of the prestigious AFA graduate program at Clemenger BBDO where she quickly developed strong client relationship management skills and met her future husband, so it’s fair to say that things got off to a solid start!
A strategic thinker who has a proven track record of managing multi-channel campaigns which deliver against business objectives, Jules built her career in highly regarded independent Agencies Host/Havas and The Monkeys. She also has Client-side experience having performed the coveted role of Brand Manager for Sydney Opera House. Jules joined Pontoon to work across 360 Underwriting Solutions, GT Insurance and Universal Candy.
Having moved to Manly 18 months ago, Jules finally understands why people who live in Manly never leave Manly and has most definitely found her forever home in the confines of 2095. She is proud Mama to daughters Willow and Finn who describe her as kind and brave, which is the best feedback she’ll ever get.
Originally from Buenos Aires in Argentina, Feli moved to Sydney in 2012 and has been with Pontoon pretty much ever since. She has a Bachelor of Advertising & Communications from the Catholic University of Argentina and began her marketing career with the multinational agency network HAVAS (formerly Euro RSCG) where she was chosen as a prestigious One Young World delegate in 2011. As her career has progressed, Feli has gained extensive experience in areas including digital marketing, brand design, advertising, consumer activations and localising global creative campaigns. She has worked with a host of major brands across many sectors. A talented communicator with a keen interest in surfing, music, graphic design and coffee, Feli today works extensively with Insurance Advisernet and MAURI.
Senior Account Manager
Northern Beaches born and bred, Lana joined Pontoon in 2017 bringing both well-rounded client and agency experience with her.
As her career has progressed, she has worked across multiple industries and categories including FMCG, alcohol, health and wellness, financial services, property and construction in multiple areas of marketing for such brands as Jim Beam, Canadian Club, Galliano, Schweppes, Pepsi and many more.
When not in the Manly office, Lana is a proud dog mom to her sassy Samoyed, Lily and crazy Kelpie, Lulu and can usually be found with a cold glass of savvy b in her hand.
Jen’s lived down under for over 6 years now. Though she’s spent majority of her time in New Zealand, she’s finally made the move over the ditch to Australia to join the Pontoon team here in Sydney. She’s worked in advertising and marketing across New Zealand and Canada on a wide range of industries including: FMCG, auto, telcomm, construction, and retail. Some noteable brands she’s worked with include: Bunnings, JB HiFi, Mitsubishi Motors, Whittaker’s chocolate, and Colgate. She has a keen interest in visual design and has experience in bringing to life large and small scale creative campaigns across traditional and digital platforms.
Jen’s a proud cat mom who has also come all the way from Canada, a very well-travelled cat indeed. Outside of work, you might catch her doing yoga on the beach, going for a surf, or having a coffee and pastry at a café in Manly!
A Northern Beaches girl through and through, Kelsey joined Pontoon at the start of 2018 after completing a Bachelor of Marketing & Media at Macquarie University and has since risen up the ranks in the agency. With experience in both Food & Beverage and Financial Services, she brings a wealth of knowledge in digital marketing, advertising and creative campaigns, with a particular interest in digital projects. Outside of work, she can usually be found on the beach with a book in one hand and a margarita in the other.
Katie joined the Pontoon team in 2019, after completing the final year of her Bachelor of Marketing & Media degree at Macquarie University. Katie started her Pontoon journey as our social media coordinator but today works in an expanded role across many of our financial services and property clients with Lana. Highly organised and possessing a sharp strategic eye, Katie is a self-confessed beer enthusiast, the proud owner of – in her opinion – “the world’s prettiest black Labrador” and a big believer that a bit of banter is the best type of medicine.
Ele has recently returned to Manly (her birth place) to live and work, having spent most of her life in the UK. She has a degree in Marketing, Advertising & Branding and graduated with a 1st Class for her Social Media dissertation where she demonstrates knowledge and insight. Ele has travelled extensively and with her two passports has visited over 30 countries. She loves exploring different experiences, food and adventures.
Jason joined the Pontoon team in 2021 as account coordinator, after completing a Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology Sydney where he majored in Marketing and Advertising. Jason is social media savvy, coordinating digital marketing efforts across many of our clients. Driven to understand client customers and their behaviours, Jason’s attention to detail enables him to identify actionable insights to tailor marketing activities. Outside of work, he has a keen interest in action sports; motocross and skiing. He is also on a relentless pursuit to hit the perfect hole in one.
Ivan has over 20 years’ experience within the digital space working across a range of platforms and technologies allowing us to provide you with the best possible technical solution for your project. He has worked in small start-ups through to large multi-national consultancies and boutique digital agencies. This experience has enabled him to develop a wide range of skills and experience across multiple disciplines, uniquely positioning him to help clients get the most out of the digital space. He has extensive technical experience and knowledge and has a particular interest in human, computer interaction and conversion optimisation theory. In his spare time Ivan is a keen amateur photographer often found lurking in obscure places at strange hours with an unhealthy obsession for sunrises & night skies.
Junior Graphic Designer
Ethan began his creative journey at Pontoon shortly after graduating from the Billy Blue School of Design in 2020. Passionate about honing his skills, Ethan spent his free time on adhoc design projects which helped prepare him for the world of marketing. His easy-going nature and ability to grasp design concepts quickly allowed him to transition seamlessly into the role of Junior Graphic Designer at Pontoon. Adapting to the Manly lifestyle, you might find Ethan spending his lunch breaks taking in the beach atmosphere.
